First Place Themed (X's) - Renee Lowery
This is a photograph I took on a Brentwood Photography Group outing to Lebanon in June. It is a window in the old Woolen Factory in downtown Lebanon. I used my Canon 5d II and a 24-105 lens. -

Are You My Mother?
This little fawn was abandoned by her mother. My 16 yr. old nephew, Austin Pruitt, of Smyrna, TN found her next to a barn. She was so tiny and could not stand, probably only one or two days old. The family was afraid the coyotes would kill her, and they knew she would not survive. They wrapped her in a blanket and brought her back to the house. They fed her Pedialyte and goat's milk from a bottle. She soon had strength enough to stand, and she went straight to the family dog thinking he was her mother. Jersey is a 12 yr. old Chocolate Lab, and such a good dog. Jersey was not sure what to think about this new little fawn trying to nurse him! The fawn is free to roam, but follows the dog and Austin around. They have named her Buttons. She is growing now and can run. She is also starting to eat clover. She is so cute!
Image taken on 6/04/11 in Smyrna, TN. I used my Nikon D700 camera, hand held, with my 70-200 2.8 lens, f/5 1/500s.

Second Place Open - Bill Sanders
A yellow finch was pulling apart a thistle blossom to get at the seeds and inadvertently spreading the seeds far and wide in the breeze.
The photo was taken midday in late May at the top of Pulltight Hill Road in Tennessee farm country southeast of the I-65 and I-840 interchange.
I used a Canon Powershot SX-10 IS at f/5.7, 1/400 sec, ISO 100 and 100mm
